KDB100 has excellent wear resistance, which is mainly due to the special molecular structure of PTFE.KDB100 wear can be roughly divided into three stages, and there are three corresponding friction coefficients. See the figure on the right.：

1) ”Running and closing" stage: The PTFE mixture of the surface layer is transferred to the dual surface to fill the pits on the dual surface and form a transfer film. At this time, the coefficient of friction is large and the wear rate of the material is faster.As shown in theⅠ curve in the figure.

2) "Stable" wear stage: The friction after running and closing becomes the friction between PTFE, the coefficient of friction is low and stable, and the wear rate of the material is low and stable.As shown in the curve of area II in the figure.

3) “Sharp" wear stage: The PTFE lubricant in the pores of the porous layer is consumed, and a sufficient amount of lubricant cannot be obtained between the friction interfaces.The lubrication between the friction surfaces is poor, the coefficient of friction rises rapidly, and the wear rate of the material accelerates sharply, until 70% of the bronze is exposed, and the life of KDB100 is nearing the end.As shown in theⅢ curve in the figure.

1) The impact of PV value
PV value is an effective indicator to determine the wear life of KDB100.If the life extension is required, the PV value must be reduced.

2) The influence of ambient temperature
The higher the ambient temperature, the shorter the service life of KDB100.

3) Impact on the coupling
The coupling adopts alloy steel or hard chrome-plated shaft, and when the surface roughness is in the range of Ra=0.4~0.63, the service life of the KDB100 bearing can be significantly improved.
